The path we choose in the upcoming months will be crucial in determining the future of Licking County. Like many other counties and the rest of the country, Licking County is facing difficult times and critical decisions must be made to ensure the well being of our county. It is important that we elect the right candidate with the right qualities for Licking County Commissioner in order to obtain the goals we have for our county. Licking County needs a Commissioner who can be relied on for their credibility. The Commissioner’s office needs someone who will be held accountable for the actions and decisions made in order to help Licking County succeed. We deserve a public servant of Licking County who will be accessible to the public and take a proactive approach leading this great community in the upcoming years.
Licking County faces many crucial events that need to be handled by someone with government experience. With the economy in Licking County struggling right now and the increase in the unemployment rate we need an effective leader to turn things around. As the 161 corridor nears completion, I will work with the economic development team to attract commerce and new jobs to Licking County. I will promote the resources that we have to create a positive business approach. With all of these critical events, it is imperative that we put someone in office that has experience as well as being a lifelong resident with a passion for our town.
My number one priority as Commissioner will be to review the budget process and guarantee to tax payers that excessive county spending is halted. Proper fiscal management is necessary to ensure that government only spends what it takes in and also to make sure that any unreasonable government spending is avoided. I will say no to any new taxes or increases in taxes. Any increase in tax right now would burden many families to a point that is unaffordable. We must have a more responsible and accountable government to reduce our tax burden.
I envision a local level of government that remains open and easily accessible to all citizens. I want to exercise my ability to work with the public to generate trust and confidence among taxpayers and elected officials. It is important to exercise good communication skills with the public and other commissioner’s in order to be more efficient in government offices.
Licking County’s best days are ahead. We have an opportunity to do great things for Licking County today and for future generations. I am optimistic about the things that we can accomplish together for our future. As a lifelong resident of Licking County I feel I am the best candidate for Licking County Commissioner due to my extensive government experience. I have worked for the Common Pleas and the Municipal court for the past 12 years. I worked for the Licking County Auditor as Deputy Auditor and I also served as a Newark City Councilman at Large. I have a positive history with the citizens of Licking County and I will be proud to represent you as your Commissioner. I respectfully ask for your vote on November 4th for Licking County Commissioner.
